Make sure your european booth RAISES THE—roof, bar, glass, nope—FLOOR!
That’s right. A raised floor is fairly standard overseas. In most european expo halls electrical is run under the exhibitor’s raised floor. Even when electrical comes from the hall ceiling, european custom is to have a raised floor with ramp access points.
How you top off your raised floor is up to you. The following are all acceptable.
- laminate/wood floor
- vinyl sheet flooring in patterns or solid gloss
- carpet
- large melamine sheets
- a mix of any of the above
Extra points for LED lighting around the edge of your booth.
While we’re talking about flooring, what are you planning to wear while you walk on it? Leave the athletic shoes in the States. Invest in a quality pair of dress shoes. A few Europeans will wear a blazer and stylish sneakers look but unless you’re a tall Fin, you may not be able to pull it off. A quality pair of leather shoes you’ve broken in before hand will be a lifesaver when walking the sprawling expo grounds.
